Manage content
Manage content is your binder’s content library — every video, document, image, link and textbox, and everything you do at file level: upload, preview, edit, check usage and delete. Viewers never see this page; they reach content through topics you build on Organize and publish on Publish.
How to
Section titled “How to”Upload files
Section titled “Upload files”- Press Add content above the table.
- Choose Upload one file for a guided upload with title and description, or Upload many files for a batch that takes its names from the filenames. You can also drag and drop files straight onto the table.
- Put them in a topic on Organize when you are ready. New content is not organized until you do.
Add text or a link
Section titled “Add text or a link”- Press Add content → Add text or Add link.
- Write the content in the binder's default language. The preview at the top of the dialog updates as you type.
- Pick a layout and alignment , and save. Translations are added later on Translate.
See an item’s details
Section titled “See an item’s details”- Click the row — or Show details on narrow screens.
- Read the Information panel : preview at the top, then facts about the file, subtitle languages and where it is used.
See where an item is used
Section titled “See where an item is used”- Open the item's menu → View usage.
- Read through the list — topics, published structure, sign-offs, content packages and shared references. Do this before editing or deleting anything used in several places.
Delete content
Section titled “Delete content”- Select one or more items , and choose Delete from the menu.
- Read the confirmation — it tells you where the item is in use.
- Confirm. Deletion is permanent, and the item disappears from every topic listed in the dialog.
Prepare a video for smart streaming
Section titled “Prepare a video for smart streaming”- Upload the video. Preparation starts on its own when smart streaming is enabled for the binder.
- Follow the status under Information — queued, uploading, encoding, ready or failed.
- Use the video menu if something is stuck:
| Action | When it appears | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Prepare smart streaming | No streaming job exists yet, or an attempt failed | Starts preparation for this video |
| Refresh streaming status | Preparation started but has not finished (or the status looks stuck) | Fetches the latest status |
| About smart streaming… | Always | Opens this help text |
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Storage at the bottom of the sidebar shows how much of the quota your files use, split by Videos, Documents and Images. Past 90 % the bar becomes a warning, but it never blocks an upload.
- A finished upload does not mean streaming is ready — preparation often takes a few minutes. Until then the file plays directly.
- Edit details changes the item everywhere it is used. Check View usage first when the content is shared.
- The sidebar holds views over the same library, not your topic tree. Whether an item sits in a topic shows in the Information panel.
- Videos also have Edit video and Manage captions; links and textboxes have no file to download.
Text and images
Section titled “Text and images”Hide title in app shows the item without a visible title but keeps the title for search and accessibility. Alignment sets left or centred title and body, independently of the layout.
Format body text with the toolbar — bold, italic, quote, bullet list, numbered list and link. There are no headings or code blocks; keep textboxes short.
Layout controls emphasis and framing: Standard, Featured, Card and Quote.
Images have the same layouts plus Fill-width. In Quote, put the quotation in Text and the source in Title.
