Getting started

Section titled “What is Sånn?”Sånn is a platform for collecting, organising, and sharing digital content — videos, documents, images, and links — in a branded portal called a binder. The name reflects everyday knowledge sharing: “that’s how we do it” and “do it like this”.
How do I get started?
Section titled “How do I get started?”- Create an account at sann.no
- Create your first binder
- Upload content — videos, documents, images, or links
- Share the binder with your users via a link or QR code
Is Sånn available as an app?
Section titled “Is Sånn available as an app?”Yes, Sånn is available both as a mobile app and via a web browser:
- App: app.sånn.com
- Admin: admin.sånn.com
The Start plan gives access via app only. From Plus and above, both web and mobile app are available.
Binders and content
Section titled “Binders and content”What is a binder?
Section titled “What is a binder?”A binder is your branded content portal in Sånn. It collects all your content and presents it to your users with your logo, colours, and profile — either as a single overview or organised into topics.
What is the difference between an unstructured folder and a binder with topics?
Section titled “What is the difference between an unstructured folder and a binder with topics?”- Unstructured folder (Start): All content is collected in a single list with no hierarchy.
- Binder with topics (Plus and above): You can organise content into named topics, which work like tabs or chapters in the binder.
How many binders can I have?

What is the “drawer”?
Section titled “What is the “drawer”?”The drawer is a separate area for content that is not yet ready to be placed in a binder. You can collect and prepare content there without it being visible to your users. The drawer is available on all plans.
Which content types are supported?
Section titled “Which content types are supported?”You can add the following to a binder:
- Videos — MP4 is recommended
- Documents — PDF, Word, and other common formats
- Images — JPG, PNG, and other common formats
- Links — to external websites and resources
- Text boxes — freestanding text directly in the binder
Can I edit videos directly in Sånn?
Section titled “Can I edit videos directly in Sånn?”Sånn is in the process of integrating a built-in video editing tool based on img.ly. The goal is to make it as easy to create and share knowledge as making a short video for social media. Contact us for the current status.
Can I publish content gradually or set something as a draft?

Administrators and access

How do I invite colleagues as administrators?
Section titled “How do I invite colleagues as administrators?”Administrators are invited from the admin panel at admin.sånn.com. Contact us if you need help with setup.
Do my users need an account to view content?
Section titled “Do my users need an account to view content?”No. Users who receive content do not need a Sånn account. You share the binder via a link or QR code, and users can open the content directly in their browser or the app.
Can I control who has access to which binders?
Section titled “Can I control who has access to which binders?”Access management across binders and departments is available on higher plans. Contact us to find the solution that suits your organisation.
Does Sånn support SSO (Single Sign-On)?
Section titled “Does Sånn support SSO (Single Sign-On)?”Yes, SSO and advanced access control are available on the Enterprise plan. See the SSO documentation for technical details.
Seen & understood
Section titled “Seen & understood”What is “Seen & understood”?
Section titled “What is “Seen & understood”?”“Seen & understood” is a feature for structured review of content with traceable sign-off. Users confirm that they have seen and understood a topic, and you can follow up on who has completed it and who has not.
The feature is particularly useful for:
- HSE training and safety briefings
- Onboarding of new employees
- Mandatory procedures and routines
How is “Seen & understood” priced?

Can I see who has completed and who has not?
Section titled “Can I see who has completed and who has not?”Yes. Sånn records who has signed off on a topic and when it was done. On Pro and Enterprise, the analytics features give you an overview of completion.
Can I export a report on completion?
Section titled “Can I export a report on completion?”Advanced analytics and audit log are available on Enterprise. Contact us for information about report export.
Sharing and distribution
Section titled “Sharing and distribution”How do I share content with my users?
Section titled “How do I share content with my users?”You can share in several ways depending on your plan:

Branding and multiple languages

Section titled “Can I use my own logo and colours?”Yes. From Pro and above, you can customise the binder with your own branding — logo, banner, custom colours, customised video player, and more. See Branding and profiling for a full overview.
Can I publish content in multiple languages?
Section titled “Can I publish content in multiple languages?”Yes. You can add multiple languages to your binder and translate titles and descriptions manually or with AI. Integrations and IT

Can Sånn be connected to HR or LMS systems?

Where is my data stored, and is it GDPR-compliant?
Section titled “Where is my data stored, and is it GDPR-compliant?”Content is stored with Infomaniak, a Swiss provider with data centres in Switzerland and France. See our privacy policy and data processing agreement for details.
