Customise binder sets the binder’s identity and branding: name, description, banner, icon and theme colour. A live preview shows the result as you work. Which languages your content exists in is set on its own page, Binder languages.

How to

Change the name and description

1. Type in Binder name and Description. The name appears in the binder header, the user's binder list, email notifications and shares. Keep the description to a couple of sentences.
2. Press Save Changes. Changing the name does not affect the binder URL or internal identifiers.

Change the banner image

1. Hover over the banner and press Change banner.
2. Pick an image from the gallery in the Binder image dialog, or press Upload new for your own. Landscape, 1280×600 recommended, as JPG, JPEG or PNG.
3. Press Update binder image , then Save Changes.

Change the binder icon

1. Click the icon — or the Upload icon placeholder — and choose a file. Square, at least 200×200, under 2 MB, as JPG, JPEG or PNG.
2. Watch the preview update immediately.
3. Press Save Changes.

Set the theme colour

1. Open the colour picker and choose a preset, or enter a hex code.
2. Check the preview — the colour is used on accents, progress bars, highlights and background tints.
3. Press Save Changes.

Good to know

• Nothing on this page saves by itself. A save bar reading Unsaved changes appears at the bottom; leaving without saving loses them.
• The icon sits over the banner, so avoid important subject matter or text where they meet — and remember the banner crops differently on mobile and desktop.
• The preview represents the mobile view. Desktop may look slightly different.
• If a change does not show afterwards, reload the page fully and clear the browser cache before investigating further.
• If an image will not upload, check the format (JPG, JPEG, PNG) and that the file is not too large.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I add languages?

On the Binder languages page. That is where you set the primary language, add the others and decide the priority order; the translating itself happens on Translate.

A language is not showing for users — why?

Check that the content is actually translated into that language on Translate, that the language is added on Binder languages, and where it sits in the priority order.
