Binder languages

Open this page in Sånn Admin

Binder languages decide which languages your content exists in, and which language everything is translated from. The translating itself happens on Translate; here you only choose which languages are in play.

  1. Press Add a language at the bottom of the list and pick from the languages you do not have yet.
  2. Drag the rows into the order you want them prioritised. The language right after the primary one is what the apps prefer when a viewer's own language is missing.
  3. Press Save. If you add languages beyond what your plan includes, a summary shows the price per extra language and the estimated monthly cost before anything is charged.
  1. Press Change language at the top and pick one of the binder's other languages. The button only appears once the binder has at least one other language.
  2. Read the confirmation and accept. Existing translations were made from the old source language and may lose their sense. The change is reversible.
  1. Press ✕ on the row and confirm.
  2. Press Save. The language stops being available as a translation target in this binder.
  • The primary language is the source every translation starts from. Content is written in it.
  • Adding a language translates nothing. Until something is translated, people see the primary language.
  • Adding, removing and reordering all wait for Save. Leaving the page with unsaved changes asks whether to discard them.
  • If you go past your plan’s allowance, the list splits at Plan limit reached and each language below is marked Over plan limit.

How is this different from my profile language?

Section titled “How is this different from my profile language?”

This page sets the languages your content exists in. Your profile language sets the language of the admin interface, for you alone.

Their own, when it exists. Otherwise the apps fall back through your priority order and end at the primary language.
