Content packages

Content packages share topics and files with other binders without giving access to the whole binder. You decide what the package holds; other binders link to it with an invite code and use the content in their own structure on Organize.

  1. Press Add New content package, and give it a name and description.
  2. Drag topics or files from Binder content on the left into the package on the right. Items already in the package are marked.
  3. Press Save. This changes what linked binders see inside the package — nothing moves or is deleted in your binder.
  1. Open the Access tab and generate an invite code.
  2. Give the code a label — "Subcontractors", "Site B" — so you can see where links came from.
  3. Send the code. Codes are reusable. Linking does not copy files; it is a live link to the package.
  1. Press Add Add a content package, and paste the invite code.
  2. Go to Organize and pick the package in the source selector to use its content in your own topics. The Content tab here is read-only for linked packages.
  1. Press Unlink binder on Access to take access from one binder.
  2. Or Unlink from binder on a package you linked in — it disappears here; the source binder is unchanged.
  3. Delete content package once no other binders are linked. Deleting is blocked while anyone is still linked.
  • The This binder badge means a package you manage; Linked means one you brought in from another binder.
  • Linked binders only see what is in the package. They never browse your binder.
  • Files that themselves came from another binder cannot be passed on. They appear dimmed with a warning badge and are quietly left out when you add the topic — the topic goes in, just without them.
  • The Preview tab shows the whole package as a searchable grid, useful before handing out codes.
  • Unsaved changes warn you before you switch package or leave the page.

What is the difference between “New content package” and “Add a content package”?

Section titled “What is the difference between “New content package” and “Add a content package”?”

New content package creates a package from this binder for you to edit and share. Add a content package links to a package from another binder using their code.

Does saving a package change my binder on Organize?

Section titled “Does saving a package change my binder on Organize?”

No. You are editing the package contents. Your binder’s own topics and files stay as they were.

Another binder is still linked. Remove their link on Access first, or ask them to unlink.
